Nevada to test Hyperloop, world’s fastest transport

The world’s fastest transportation system is becoming a reality, thanks to the vision of Elon Musk, founder Tesla Motors & SpaceX, and Nevada’s vast expanse of uninhabited desert.

Nevada is the home of Hyperloop One’s DevLoop, a test track for the world’s first hyperloop, a pneumatic tube transportation system that will move passengers and products at record speeds (up to 750 mph) in pressurized pods that ride on air.

A hyperloop system could cut long-distance travel/transport times and alleviate congestion in many large cities. For example, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is interested in using a hyperloop to connect Dubai with its capital, Abu Dhabi, a 2-hr drive that could be cut to just 12 minutes.

Hyperloop One plans to perform a public trial of its new DevLoop test track in Nevada in the first half of this year.
